Social Media: Getting Started (Step-by-Step for New Agents)

Social Media: Getting Started (Step-by-Step for New Agents)

You've joined Bramlett and you want to build a social media presence. Here's where to start — no guessing required.

Step 1: Get Your Branded Assets

Before you post anything, make sure you have the right branding materials:

  1. Download your agent logo and brand assets from Brand Identity Downloads
  2. Review the Brand Guide — know the colors, fonts, and usage rules
  3. Get your headshot if you don't have one — see Headshots Style Guide

Step 2: Choose Your Platform(s)

You don't need to be everywhere. Pick one or two and do them well.

Platform Best for
Instagram Visual content, listings, lifestyle, local neighborhood content
Facebook Sphere engagement, community groups, older demographic
LinkedIn Professional network, referral partners, sphere

Recommendation for new agents: Start with Instagram. It's the most active platform for Austin real estate consumers and has the most template support from Bramlett.

Step 3: Use Bramlett's Templates

You don't have to design from scratch. Bramlett provides ready-to-use templates:

Templates are in Canva. Access them via the links in the articles above.

Step 4: Know the Brand Rules

Key things you cannot do:

  • Use unofficial logos or colors
  • Post listings without proper attribution/branding
  • Use personal branding that conflicts with Bramlett brand standards

When in doubt, check the Brand Guide or submit a HelpScout ticket to the design team.

Step 5: Set a Posting Frequency You Can Sustain

Consistency beats volume. Three posts per week, sustained for 6 months, beats 20 posts in January and silence in February.

Suggested starting cadence:

  • 1 listing or market content post per week
  • 1 personal/community post per week
  • 1 educational or tips post per week

Step 6: Order Custom Design Assets When Needed

For custom design work (agent-branded materials, unique graphics):

What Bramlett Does NOT Manage for You

Bramlett provides templates, brand assets, and design support. Bramlett does not:

  • Post on your behalf
  • Manage your personal accounts
  • Create custom content on demand for every listing (use the templates)
