Inserting Loom Videos Into Email & FUB Newsletters + Linking to Youtube
To effectively insert an animated GIF video into emails and newsletters to improve click-through rates and catch the recipient's attention. This is effective when sending emails to a single client and especially when sending newsletters to a set of clients. When sending newsletters, you will almost always use the FUB / FollowUPBoss batch email feature and you will often want to link to Youtube (to grow your channel) instead of the loom link. Watch this 2:30 min video to see how! Steps below.
Key Steps:
- Inserting Loom Animated GIF:
- Paste the Loom video link into Gmail.
- If the link doesn't work, go to Loom, click on Share Video, then Embed, and copy the GIF thumbnail.
Paste the GIF thumbnail into the email.
Linking to YouTube Video:
- In newsletters, link to a YouTube video instead of Loom.
- Copy the GIF thumbnail from YouTube.
- Paste it into the newsletter.
- Delete any unnecessary text for a cleaner look.
- Highlight the video, add or remove a link, and insert the YouTube video link.
- Preview the link to ensure it directs to YouTube.
Cautionary Notes:
- Ensure the GIF thumbnail is copied correctly to maintain the animated effect.
- Double-check the inserted link to ensure it directs to the correct video source (Loom or YouTube).
- Test the email or newsletter before sending to confirm the video insertion and link functionality.
Tips for Efficiency:
- Use the Loom extension for easier insertion of animated GIFs into emails.
- Keep the email or newsletter design clean by removing unnecessary text around the video.
- Always preview the inserted video link to verify it directs to the intended source (Loom or YouTube).
